Hooks
Hook blocks
Every rule a creator can write into the pool.
A hook is a contract Uniswap v4 calls on every swap. AvaxHook ships one hook with 13 building blocks in three groups. A creator picks any mix at launch, sets the numbers, and the hook enforces them on every swap in that token's pool. Nobody can change them afterwards.
Protection
Keep bots, whales and dumps off the open.
Anti-snipe
Caps buys per block and taxes bots at the open.
Runs twice: when the curve opens and again when the Uniswap pool opens. During the window, buys share a per-block cap, pay a snipe tax that goes into the pot, exact-output buys are refused and nobody else can add liquidity.
Whale guard
No single buy bigger than a set size, early on.
For a window after the pool opens, each buy is capped. Supply spreads across more wallets instead of landing in a few. Exact-output buys are refused in the window so the cap can be checked.
Dump guard
No single sell bigger than a slice of supply.
For a window after the pool opens, each sell is capped as a share of the 1B supply. Large holders can still exit, just in steps the market can absorb.
MEV shield
Refuses swaps that bribe their way to the front.
Sandwich and snipe bots win by paying a high priority fee. During the window, any swap paying more than the set priority fee above the base fee reverts.
Sell tax decay
Early sells pay extra; the tax fades to zero.
Sells pay an extra LP fee that starts at the set rate when the pool opens and falls in a straight line to zero over the window. Flipping right away costs more; holding costs nothing.
Fees
Shape what every trade pays and who earns it.
Dynamic fee
Big trades pay more, small trades pay the base.
The LP fee starts at the base and rises toward the ceiling as a trade gets larger relative to the pool depth. Sensitivity sets how fast it climbs.
Volatility fee
Chasing a move inside one block costs extra.
The first swap in a block sets a reference price. Every later swap in that block pays an extra LP fee for each tick the price has already moved, up to a ceiling. This makes sandwich attacks and pile-ons expensive.
Referral
Whoever brings a buyer earns a cut of the buy.
Buys that come through a referral link pay a share of the buy to the referrer. Self-referrals earn nothing. Share links from the token page.
Rewards & burn
Give trades back to holders, LPs and lucky buyers.
Auto burn
A slice of every buy is burned forever.
On each buy through the pool, a share of the tokens bought is sent to 0x…dEaD. Supply only goes down.
Buyback & burn
Sells fund buybacks that burn the token.
A share of what every sell pays out is saved. Anyone can trigger a buyback that spends the savings buying the token and burning it, capped per run, with at most 5% price impact and a short cooldown.
LP rewards
A slice of every buy is paid to liquidity.
A share of each buy is donated to in-range liquidity. The launch liquidity is locked forever, so this deepens fees for the creator and the protocol and rewards anyone who adds liquidity later.
Nth-buy pot
Buys fill a pot. Every Nth buy takes it.
A share of each buy (and the snipe tax) fills a pot. Each qualifying buy moves a public counter by one, at most once per block, and the buy that lands on N wins. Deterministic, no randomness claimed.
Last-buyer pot
If nobody buys for a while, the last buyer wins.
A share of each buy fills a second pot. Every qualifying buy restarts the clock and takes the lead. When the clock runs out with no new qualifying buy, the leader takes the whole pot and a new round starts.
How hooks see a swap
Cuts and burns apply to exact-input swaps, which is what the AvaxHook router and most aggregators send. Pot entries and referrals count when a router passes the buyer's address to the hook; the AvaxHook router always does.
